Friends of the Pastors Liberia

Equipping Church Leaders Across West Africa

Friends of the Pastors Liberia (FOPAL) is the on-the-ground ministry arm of Friends of the Pastors USA. Led by Pastor Moses Nimene and based in Gbengbar Town, Paynesville, FOPAL trains and equips pastors and church leaders across Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone through biblical training, sustainable agriculture programs, and community development initiatives.

Our Training Centers

Gbarnga, Bong County — 17 pastors currently in training. Our flagship center offers a comprehensive 16-week program covering biblical hermeneutics, systematic theology, evangelism, marriage and family discipleship, and sustainable agriculture (Farming God’s Way).

Foequelleh (Bellemu), Bong County — 12 pastors currently in training. This remote center reaches church leaders who cannot travel to the capital, bringing training directly to underserved communities.

Our Impact

  • 29 pastors currently in training across two centers
  • 5–8 new churches planted or strengthened per training cycle
  • 100+ community members reached through Jesus Film outreaches per cycle
  • Training delegations in Sierra Leone and Guinea
  • Graduates report improved preaching, stronger families, and visible community transformation

Meet Pastor Moses Nimene

Pastor Moses leads FOPAL with deep joy and gratitude. He travels regularly from Monrovia to remote training sites on difficult, flood-prone roads — especially during rainy season. He also leads international mission trips to Sierra Leone. His reports overflow with thanksgiving as he witnesses pastors whose “lives are visibly transformed” by the Gospel.

Moses embodies the sacrifice at the heart of this ministry: traveling for hours on difficult roads to equip church leaders who can’t reach the city. The journey itself is part of the calling.
